Pet Stylist – Apprenticeship

We are looking to add another outgoing, talented groomer to our staff! Must have standards of exceptional quality in work, team player, outstanding customer service and most importantly patient disposition with animals. We are looking for someone who values continued education, is coachable and has the drive to continue to learn. Quality over quantity and making sure the clients are 100% satisfied in our work.

We are willing to work with individuals that have less than 2 years experience, however minimum of 2 years is preferable. We are looking for someone to work 4-5 days a week, must include Saturday.

Bather

The Dog Pawlour is looking for an outgoing, hardworking person to join our team. We are a bustling grooming salon with a wonderful, friendly, and loyal clientele. We are looking for an individual who wants to join our team for a long-term commitment! Dog Bather/Assistant.

We are looking for someone that has the experience and is willing to grow with us while we provide excellent customer service to our ever-expanding clientele. Some tasks include; Bathing/drying dogs, cleaning responsibilities, client interaction, and much more. We put our clientele and their pets as our highest priority, and their experience is very important. Being caring, patient, and coachable are essential in any job working with animals.

To help maintain that throughout the grooming salon, we are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Reliability.

  • Experience working with animals (preferably in a grooming salon).

  • Willing to maintain cleanliness within the shop.

  • Works well independently, as well with a team.

  • Staying calm in stressful situations.

  • Basic animal handling knowledge

  • A passion for working with animals.

  • Able to adapt/learn quickly.

Availability Monday through Saturday (will only work five days/week), with some days finishing earlier or later depending on the number of dogs on the schedule. 32+ hours per week.

Guest Services Specialist

The Dog Pawlour is seeking a full-time professional individual who can serve as our Guest Services Specialist. Outstanding phone etiquette, attention to detail, and high-level communication skills with an outgoing personality are required. 1+ years of experience in the pet/veterinary industry is a plus. This role is in our offices, separate from our shops, where you work independently to support each shop.

Responsibilities and Duties

Principal Responsibilities

  • Answer phones from customers professionally, responding to customer inquiries.
  • Schedule grooming and daycare appointments/reservations for customers.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints regarding product sales to customer service problems.
  • Provide customers with service and product information.
  • Identify priority issues and report them to upper management.
  • Make outbound calls to customers confirming their scheduled appointment and inquiring about their recent first-time visits to our locations.
  • Record details of comments, inquiries, complaints, and actions taken.
  • High level of communication between the shops and the customers to ensure a seamless and pleasant experience in getting their pets scheduled for services.
  • Assist GM and Owner in day-to-day administrative duties such as reporting (excel), making phone calls, responding to emails, and other duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum requirements and essential functions of this position:

  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent overall computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software programs.

Experience Specialist

Our premier, fast-growing and well-respected pet service business includes grooming, self-wash, dog daycare, and retail. The ideal candidate must have outstanding communication skills as they will speak with customers throughout the day in person and on the phone. A professional appearance and presentation are also important as this person meets, greets, and services every customer who comes to our shop. They need to be an exceptional team player and have a passion for our brand and the industry. This position will also assist in cleaning throughout the shop.

There is a clear path for individuals who are driven to diversify their skills in the business and continue to grow.

Job Tasks for Our Client Service Specialist

  • Demonstrate a passion for customers and understand their needs.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with all tasks given as there are several times throughout each day where there can be multiple things going on at once (i.e., checking in and out dogs for grooming/daycare, phone calls, and maintaining self-wash suites).
  • Scheduling appointments for grooming, reservations for dog daycare
  • Understanding and actively selling retail products and services.
  • Assisting self-wash customers with check-in, loyalty cards, and use of the suites, followed by cleaning them so they are ready for the next customer.
  • Taking ownership of tasks given and ensuring follow-through.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the shop.
  • Assist and perform other miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned.
 

Position Requirements

  • MUST have at least one year of experience working with animals in a vet clinic, pet retail store, non-profit organization, or like business. No exceptions.
  • Have two or more years of experience working with clients in a servicing/support role, with a high level of enthusiasm, and are very comfortable with multi-tasking, deadlines, and task prioritization.- Minimum of high school degree but prefer college degree (Associates, Bachelors or Masters).
  • Ability to maintain happy and satisfied clients and understand client service principles and practices.
  • Eager to learn new products and industry-related information.
  • Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate detail orientation and the ability to troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced environment.- Great work ethic, timely, patience, dependability, teamwork, leadership, communication/people skills required.
  • Technical Competencies
  • Ability to learn new programs at a fast rate (i.e., Gingr)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience social media platforms
